Pegasys Announces TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 Menu Templates for Great Father's Day and Graduation DVDs!

Pegasys, Inc. (http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com) the company that makes digital video easy, announces the availability of TMPGEnc FREE Menu Templates for TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 (TAW4) owners. The new templates are designed for creating Father's Day and Graduation themed DVD's and are available now. More information and additional TAW4 templates can be found at http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/taw4_template.html.

TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 is the complete media authoring solution for any video enthusiast. It's easy enough for a beginner to use, and sophisticated enough to meet the demands of experienced videographers. Take a look at the features listed below:

Import Hi-Def Video (AVCHD/HDV)
With the capability to author the high-capacity Blu-ray format, users can enjoy high definition videos with menus without worrying about disc capacity. This allows the saving of high-definition videos taken with an AVCHD or HDV camcorder and keeping it in high definition. Add in support for high quality 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound or linear PCM audio (up to 192kHz/20bit) and the result is an excellent audio/video presentation.

Fast Proxy Editing
Due to greater video information in HD files, editing is time consuming. HD video files - such as those imported from HDV and AVCHD camcorders -slow down computers trying to process large amounts of information. TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 creates a smaller, easier to manage proxy file, from which editing can be done as with any other video clip. When the video is output, the edits made in the proxy file are transferred to the larger original video file.

Dolby Digital 5.1 Channel Support
For awesome surround sound, the TMPGEnc enhanced software supports input and output of 5.1 Dolby digital audio. Now every nuance, explosion, and bass sound can be saved and enjoyed.

Advanced Slideshow Creator
Photography lovers will appreciate the advanced slideshow creator that allows users to create slideshow DVDs or hi-def slideshows (1920 x 1080) on Blu-ray Disc. Users can animate each slide with transitions and add animation effects to bring still images to life.

Other features
171 video transition effects that add a professional look to video clips; batch authoring that automatically renders multiple DVD/BDMV projects one after the other, eliminating the need for users to start each output manually; author Blu-ray discs with full HD pop-up menus; create menu parts such as buttons, frames, and backgrounds from custom images.
Authoring Works 4 easily captures video directly from a DV or HDV camcorder. It only requires a simple IEEE 1394 (i.Link) PC interface connection. It can also import many types of source files, including: DVD-VIDEO, DVD-VR, MPEG1/2, MPEG-4 ISO/H.264, AVI, Windows Media, DivX, and QuickTime (mov, mp4, 3gp, 3g2) file formats. Users can utilize up to two subtitle streams simultaneously, making it possible to create a DVD or Blu-ray Disc with subtitles in multiple languages.

Use built-in menu templates or use the robust menu creation process, create custom menus. Give life to any production by freely positioning and resizing titles, thumbnail images, and text, creating dynamic motion menus. Smart Rendering technology makes encoding faster, allowing the editing and outputting of DivX and DVD projects faster than other authoring software.
DivX authoring capability allows DivX projects to feature DVD-like menus and navigation. Finished projects may be played with DivX Player software on a PC, or on any DivX Ultra Certified DVD player and a television or compatible home theater system.

Boris FX Adds Real-Time Performance to Boris Continuum Chroma Key

Boris FX, the leading developer of integrated effects technology for video and film, announced that the Boris Continuum Chroma Key Unit now includes a Chroma Key Studio filter for real-time previews and rendering in Apple Final Cut Pro, Motion, and Final Cut Express.

Chroma Key Studio builds on the strength of Boris Continuum Complete's keying and compositing tools with features such as a best-of-breed chroma key process, spill suppression, matte choker, and a light wrap compositing step. All four tools are combined in one, easy-to-use filter; users do not need to stack multiple filters to pre and post process video.

In addition to Chroma Key Studio, the Boris Continuum Chroma Key Unit includes the following filters for Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro in addition to Apple Pro Video Applications:

• BCC Chroma Key for compositing camera footage shot using a blue, green, or orange screen as a backdrop over a new background video or a still image from a separate file. The Chroma Key filter includes a variety of Spill Suppression parameters.

• BCC Matte Choker for tweaking the blur, choke, and softening along the edges of a key.

• BCC Light Wrap to reflect the background image around the edges of a foreground image to form a border. This creates a more convincing composite by making it appear as if the images were shot in the same environment.

• BCC Match Grain for sampling the grain from the background and applying it to the foreground, generating the appearance that the clips were shot on the same camera.

• BCC Color Match for sampling the highlight, midtone, and shadow regions in the foreground and background images and blending some of the background color and luma values into the foreground, contributing to a seamless composite.

Pricing and Availability
Boris Continuum Chroma Key is immediately available through the Boris FX worldwide reseller channel and direct from the Boris FX web site at www.borisfx.com for an MSRP of $299 USD. Customers who purchase the Boris Continuum Chroma Key Unit or any other Boris Continuum Unit may credit the price of the Unit towards the full Boris Continuum Complete plug-in suite.
