EventDV to Present EventDV 25 at Video 07

EventDV announced today that it will honor the event video industry's 25 hottest and most influential videographers on January 8, 2007 at the opening night gala of The 4EVER Group's Video 07 convention in Jacksonville, Florida. For the second consecutive year, EventDV will recognize its current all-star team at The 4EVER Group's signature event.
"Last year's convention proved the perfect venue for presenting the first annual EventDV 25," said EventDV editor-in-chief Stephen F. Nathans. "Honoring our all-star team in front of their assembled peers and colleagues at The 4EVER Group's awards gala made the recognition all the more meaningful for our honorees, and we're delighted to have the opportunity to do it again."

While last year's EventDV 25 was selected in a hybrid voting process, combining online nominations from EventDV readers with the deliberations of a five-member executive committee, this year's 25 was selected entirely by the readers, much as major league baseball's all-star team is entirely fan-selected. "The EventDV 25 is all about recognizing videographers who are advancing the industry by influencing other videographers through the ongoing quality and innovation of their work, their leadership in local or national associations, or their educational efforts within the field," said Nathans. "Last year's hybrid voting process was important to establish the awards program, both in terms of visibility and defining the EventDV 25 itself. This year, we felt it was time to pass on the responsibility of selecting the list to the EventDV readership. Judging by the overwhelming response we received at the polls, it's safe to say the readers have spoken."

Nathans first approached The 4EVER Group about presenting the EventDV 25 at The 4EVER Group convention in late 2005, shortly after the completion of the first year's selection process. "The presentation of the Artistic Achievement Awards on the opening night of Video 07 will make it one of the most exciting nights of the year in our industry," said Nathans. "It brings together the best and brightest in our industry to celebrate event video at its best. We're excited to have the chance to share a stage with their awards."

Video 07, held at the Hyatt Riverfront in Jacksonville, January 8-11, 2007, features many of the leading educators in the event video industry, including 2005 EventDV 25 honorees Robert Allen, John Goolsby, Randy Stubbs, Julian St. Pierre, Lance Gray, Brian Gunn, Mark and Trisha Von Lanken, Josh Fozzard, Maureen Bacon, Luisa Winters, and Ken Ehrhart. EventDV is platinum media partner for the show. "The media partnership with EventDV has been a successful one for The 4EVER Group," said Steve Wernick, director of development for The 4EVER Group. "We're all interested in growing the industry, and making high-quality education available to videographers. The EventDV 25 exemplifies these efforts, and we're proud to provide a platform for their recognition."

Grass Valley, which debuted the long-awaited EDIUS 4 earlier this year, and Newtek, which recently released SpeedEDIT, billed as "The World's Fastest Video Editor," are Gold Sponsors for the EventDV 25.

Simultaneous launch events are planned in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Chicago and Dallas.
